'Conqueror's Blade' Beta Test Starts Next Week, Generals and Legions Revealed - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Jan. 16, 2018 @ 8:01 a.m. PST

Combining both heroic action combat with tactical troop maneuvers, Conqueror's Blade allows players to experience authentic medieval warfare as they command fearsome armies.

Booming Games' proprietary engine, CHAOS, delivers a seamless experience, even with thousands of troops onscreen at once, as well as authentic effects, such as fire and explosions, and diverse weather events, including thunderstorms and sandstorms. Stunningly detailed graphics replicate the weapons, armor and equipment of actual medieval troops. The game requires strategic thinking and skillful use of resources, as players must deploy the best army for the battle at hand from a wide selection of both Eastern and Western Legions, powerful Generals, and thousands of weapons.

Battles are fought in a vast sandbox landscape several thousand kilometers wide, where players seek to conquer lands and reign over their own Kingdom. Mirroring our own world the terrain features high mountains, deep rivers and fierce deserts, and populated by a variety of nations and cultures. Players may acquire territory to build their own House and Kingdom and fight to defend them. With 5v5 and 15v15 battles available, the PvP warfare in Conqueror's Blade will challenge even the boldest warriors. Generals begin with 3 or 4 skills, so players learn gradually the best strategies for deploying their Legions, and which weapons to use for each battle, as some are designed for solo skirmishes while others shine in group warfare.

Earlier this month we already confirmed that Booming Games would launch the Conqueror's Blade beta this month, and now a specific date has been set, January 26, 2018.

Conqueror's Blade recreates vast medieval civilizations and showcases their legendary weapons and fighting styles in a massive, immersive arena of war in which players command generals and their legions in pursuit of victory.

Strategic players will develop powerful Generals while tactically selecting the most effective Legions for each battle. There are several Generals in the game, each featuring different armaments and fighting styles. Generals may deploy multiple weapons with a unique set of skills that can be acquired and unlocked as players level up.

Players' armies consist of Legions that can vary in size from 16 to 40 men. Each Legion features different skills and takes on a unique battlefield formation. For example, the Sword-Shield use a Shield Wall and are most effective in melee combat, while the Spear-Shield prefer a Turtle Formation and take on enemies with solid spears. The various formations offer different advantages to the Legions. Spear-Shield's "Iron Barricade" formation, for instance, provides maximum protection for the General from enemy attack by placing him in the center.

The Legions' special skills yield high damage or special effects, like cavalry charges or archers' flaming arrows. Some skills may be used only in particular formations, such as the Spear-Shield's advance and retreat can only be cast in Turtle Formation.
