In Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition the armed forces of Niflheim launch a devastating assault upon the Kingdom of Lucis, casting Crown Prince Noctis and his comrades out of their homes and into the fray.

Previously known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the title’s development expanded and evolved to take full advantage of the capabilities of next-generation platforms. While the main concept, world and story continue to be developed as originally envisioned, the First Production Development Team has further improved Final Fantasy XV s action, gameplay elements and graphic quality to match the technology of the next-generation hardware, as well as the expectations of players eagerly awaiting the game’s release.

Final Fantasy XV promises to bring a darker, real world tinge to the long-running series. Explore cities, take on intricate quests, and progress through a compelling storyline to save your home and the world itself.

Square Enix celebrates the official two-year anniversary of the award-winning Final Fantasy XV with new content and a first look at the forthcoming DLC - Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn. Players can look forward to a special collaboration event with Final Fantasy XIV Online and a new standalone edition of Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades.

Slated for release in March 2019, Episode Ardyn offers players the opportunity to step into the role of Final Fantasy XV’s main antagonist. Set before the events of Final Fantasy XV, players will learn more about Ardyn’s backstory in a story of death and restoration. The release will be accompanied by a special anime episode titled, Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn - Prologue.

Next month, a special Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration event will take place beginning on December 12 at 5pm Pacific Standard Time. Available to all Final Fantasy XV players as a free update, the event introduces a new in-game quest titled “Adventurer from Another World.” In this quest, Noctis embarks on a journey with the mysterious Miqo’te, Y’jhimei to Perpetouss Keep, which concludes with a fierce battle against the primal Garuda from Final Fantasy XIV Online. Players who complete the quest will receive special FINAL FANTASY XIV-themed costumes as a reward.

A standalone edition of Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades for the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and the PS4 will release on December 12 at 5pm Pacific Standard Time. Players can participate in various hunt, guard and convoy quests in co-op gameplay with up to four other players. The new update will bring 10 additional powerful bosses for players to face off against.

Current owners of Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades who wish to continue playing on Xbox One and the PS4 can download the standalone edition for free when it launches on December 12 at 5pm Pacific Standard Time. PC players will be able to download ongoing updates for the Comrades expansion.

Finally, the previously announced DLC episodes featuring the characters Aranea, Lunafreya and Noctis, will no longer be produced. The Final Fantasy XV journey will conclude next year with the release of EPISODE ARDYN. The Final Fantasy XV development team wish to thank all players who have taken this journey with them and will celebrate the experience with fans to the end.

Deception and treachery has shattered the promising truce that would've ended the long shadow war between the mystical kingdom of Lucis the militant empire of Niflheim. The world's last crystal is gone, taken by Niflheim agents as they launch simultaneous attacks on their neighbor nations. Noctis, Prince of Lucis, sets out to stop the empire and reclaim his home's crystal, the source of their magical power and protection. Will he and his friends be successful in their quest? What will this dark, new world reveal before the final act?

In a matter of days, the Kingdom of Lucis is to sign an armistice, ending a long and bitter conflict with Niflheim. Ahead of the ceremony, Prince Noctis, heir to the Lucian throne, sets forth from his homeland to formalize the union of states through his marriage to the Lady Lunafreya of the imperial province of Tenebrae.

The offer of peace, however, is no more than a ruse to lower the Lucian shield, and the imperial army takes the crown city and its sacred crystal in one fell swoop. En route to his destination, Noctis is shocked to learn that he, his father the king, and his betrothed are believed dead.

Overnight, the dream of peace has faded into a distant memory. His world crumbling around him, Noctis has naught but his resolve and his loyal companions to see him through the trials to come.

The game supports Native 4K and 8K resolutions with HDR10 and DOLBY ATMOS along with ongoing mod support. Minimum, recommended and 4K HDR PC specifications for players looking to enjoy the ultimate experience on PC are outlined below.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
