THQ Nordic Acquires 'Carmageddon' Franchise

by Rainier on Dec. 3, 2018 @ 8:06 a.m. PST

Carmageddon introduces the gaming world to the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows) equal points and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.

THQ Nordic announced the acquisition of the intellectual property “Carmageddon” from Stainless Games, based in Newport, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom.

Carmageddon is a vehicular combat video game released for PC in 1997. It was later ported to other platforms and spawned a series of follow-up titles.
