Escape from Tarkov is a narrative MMO mix of FPS/TPS and RPG genres, where you find yourself in a modern Russian city sunk into anarchy: only the fittest will solve the mysteries of Tarkov and get out alive.

Escape from Tarkov pushes the boundaries of genres and offers a new kind of gameplay based on a multitude of tactical and combat factors and the use of additional modules that improve game realism.

Events take place in a realistic setting in the Russian city of Tarkov. Main characters work for two private military companies locked in bloody conflict on the streets of the settlement surrounded by UN forces and Russian Military. Players need to find a way out of the isolated Tarkov, survive the deadly hazards and unearth all mysteries of the city. Following the wildly twisted plot, heroes of Escape from Tarkov meet many dangers – from hostile mercenaries of enemy faction to aggressive environment. Death may come suddenly in a multitude of ways: character may perish because of consequences of different injuries, illnesses, exhaustion and radiation poisoning.

To survive in a harsh and unpredictable world, players use numerous MMO system modules: users can control all actions and movements of their character and choose from a wide range of behaviors and tactics.

Escape from Tarkov's Hazardous Environment Combat Simulator employs a number of custom system modules to create incredibly immersive gameplay and make players feel the reality of what is happening in the game.

We take note that first hours after the update servers may experience heavy load leading to increased matching time possible network delays.

This game update introduces the new Interchange map, modern and somewhat atypical compared to the rest of Tarkov locations so far. The Interchange, beside obvious highways, features a huge shopping mall with shops and restaurants. The new location provides conditions for honing new confined space combat tactics. It should be noted that some time after the update there won’t be any AI adversaries on location, they will be added in the following patches. Also, traditionally, along with a new location, the game has introduced a new dealer - Ragman, who sells everything related to garments and equipment.

In the current update we has applied new, experimental methods for optimizing game physics handling on client and server, as well as new means to reduce network latency. In addition, specifically for the new Interchange map, new object rendering optimization technology was applied. Over the course of the upcoming testing these methods will be applied to other locations as well, resulting in an additional performance gain. We admit that in the process of testing the new game update, players may experience various problems associated with new methods of optimization and new game features. All the emerging problems will be processed through the system of bug reports and promptly fixed. Moreover, the launcher was updated as well, along with numerous other fixes and changes. New EFT update has also introduced a basic tutorial that is going to help new players to understand and master the basic mechanics of the game faster and better.

After this update, players will have to spend more time on loading and unloading of the magazines, check the number of cartridges in the magazine and chamber. Different magazines affect the loading/unloading rate differently, and there is now a new specialized character skill - Mag Drills.

Other additions to the game content include new weapons, among them Springfield Armory M1A, Remington 870, AAR, APB and new models of AK including 100-series as well as numerous items for weapon modification. Overall, we added more than 60 new gear and equipment items to the game, including bags and vests, body armors and helmets, weapon modifications, ammunition and medicine cases, hats, glasses, balaclavas. A detailed list of the new equipment was previously posted on the official website of the game and in our social network communities.

Finally the update has been combined with the long-anticipated profile reset.

The following updates, along other improvements and changes, are going to further improve the project performance, network quality, bug fixes, add new game combat mechanics. Soon, the game is scheduled to feature the advanced armor system, flea market, Hideout and other features that were mentioned in the plans for 2018. Development and testing of the future innovations are already underway. Also, the test results of this update will have a crucial influence on deciding the Open Beta launch date.
