'Spacelords' (ALL) Adds Aneska As Playable Character - Trailer

by Rainier on Jan. 31, 2019 @ 12:16 a.m. PST

Spacelords is a multiplayer online asymmetric adventure where you fight the invaders by teaming up with other Raiders, or turn the tables and storm into battle with those invaders fighting at your side!

An incredible discovery on one of Saturn’s moons leads a force of humans to the Broken Planet on the far reaches of the Universe. A source of energy called Aleph exists there that grants ultimate power to whoever controls it…

However, the human forces split into factions and fight amongst themselves for dominion over the Aleph. The peaceful inhabitants of the planet are caught in the crossfire, but a hero emerges amongst them who hopes to lead his people to freedom…

Using nefarious means and exploiting the disunity amongst the human ranks, Harec recruits a rag tag group of rogues, outlaws and hired guns from the various factions and pits them against those who would destroy his people...

In Spacelords, become a Raider and join the battle both on and offline in awesome 3rd person Brawler-Shooter gameplay. Customise your character’s combat style in unique ways with special collectible cards. Use Aleph to your advantage, to power special abilities, but manage it properly or you will give away your position on the battlefield!

In Spacelords you pick your protagonist and work together with three other players in a counter-operative adventure. The biggest idea underpinning the game is something akin to Dark Souls, where a single player, The Antagonist, can invade a match just as it begins and choose to fight alongside the bad guys against the four-player human team. The goal of this Antagonist is simply to troll the good guys and prevent them from achieving their mission objectives.

MercurySteam announced that Aneska joins ranks of playable characters in Spacelords.

Since Aneska was first revealed as the fearsome final boss of the Spacelords’ campaign, Hades Betrayal, the game’s community demanded her inclusion in the Raiders as a recruitable character, and the studio has now made good to their promise to heed the community.

“When Hades Betrayal launched last year, our community instantly fell in love with the character, and didn’t cease to ask for her to become playable on a daily basis in our Social Media channels,” said Enric Álvarez, Studio Director at MercurySteam. “True to our commitment to listen to the community, the studio immediately started to work on how best to include Aneska in the roster of available characters.”

Aneska, also known as the Scourge of Phobos, is the former alpha operative of the Hades Division, feared across the galaxy as the most lethal Mech-Raider in the battlefield. Next to her defeat at the hands of the Raiders, Aneska found herself alone in a hostile planet. After considering her options and reuniting with her loyal war machine, Aneska decided that the time had come to fight for a cause she deemed worth fighting for.

She grudgingly admired Harec’s courage and skill as a leader. In the past, Aneska had thought the Raiders to be a ragged brotherhood, composed by outcasts, defectors and pariahs, but now she realized that description fitted her only too well…

Spacelords (previously known as Raiders of the Broken Planet) is currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
