'Xenon Racer' (ALL) Cranks It Up With Music From Monstercat Record Label, Full Track List

by Rainier on Feb. 5, 2019 @ 12:21 p.m. PST

Xenon Racer is an electrifying arcade racer set in the year 2030.

In the year 2030, the first flying cars have been invented and the World Federation Racing Championship is preparing for a new era of racing with hybrid cars. To give teams time to adjust to this fundamental transition, the Federation issues a season’s pause. Four of the world’s leading hybrid electric car manufacturers get together and decide to bridge this gap by organizing “Xenon”, a once in a lifetime championship for rookie drivers to help test the new technology with car prototypes running on a combination of electricity and Xenon gas.

The Federation does not approve of this rogue championship and their missing endorsement means that the usual international race tracks cannot be used. Therefore, the gravity defying racing action takes place in the bustling streets of cities worldwide, such as Shanghai in China and Miami in the USA. There are also races at more serene places; the Cote d’Azur in France and Lake Louise in Canada.

SOEDESCO is teaming up with the independent EDM record label Monstercat for the music of futuristic arcade racing game Xenon Racer.

The futuristic feel and adrenaline-pumping speeds of Xenon Racer are a perfect match with the spirited electro, dubstep, glitch-hop and house music produced by Monstercat’s artists. Xenon Racer will feature 20 tracks by established artists from the electronic music scene, such as Pegboard Nerds, Rameses B and Melano, as well as Grant, FWLR, Tokyo Machine and Noisestorm.

Gavin Johnson, Head of Gaming at Monstercat, expresses his excitement: “At Monstercat, we are always looking to empower new games created by passionate developers to create new stages for our artists. With the launch of Xenon Racer, we are looking forward to helping fuel the races with our talented artist’s music.”

Bas de Jonge, Marketing Manager at SOEDESCO, is also thrilled: “We’re stoked to have Monstercat music in Xenon Racer that fits so well with the futuristic arcade look and feel of the game. We’re happy to be able to provide talented artists with an opportunity to bring their music to racing fans worldwide, especially with a label that’s so active in the gaming scene.”

In an era of flying vehicles, a last one-off championship for traditional wheeled vehicles has been organised, with cutting edge electric cars boosted by Xenon gas. Rushing through treacherous turns as bright neon lights flash by, players drift through the futuristic streets of cities like Tokyo and Dubai. Resisting massive G-forces, they’ll have to demand the utmost of technology to race at breakneck speeds in the pursuit of eternal victory.

In Xenon Racer, players can race against the AI in Fast Race and Elimination Mode, and  unlock new cars, parts and maps in the singleplayer Championship. To practice their racing skills and to break personal records, players can hit the tracks by themselves in Time Attack, Checkpoint Attack and Free Mode. There’s also a local split screen mode and an online multiplayer to challenge others to a race.

Xenon Racer is scheduled to launch (digital/physical) on March 26, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).
