'Abs vs. The Blood Queen' Available On Steam Early Access - Trailer

Zombeez: A Killer Queen Remix is a frantic 2D platformer where you run, fly, and slay your way through the undead horde as you head towards a fated showdown with the terrifying Blood Queen!

The first single-player Killer Queen experience comes home!

When COVID-19 turned arcades and other Killer Queen arenas upside-down, BumbleBear Games quickly set out to create something new that brings the thrill of arcade competition home for both diehards and brand-new players alike.

Enter Abs vs. The Blood Queen, a procedurally-generated, tough-as-nails retro platformer starring Killer Queen’s most iconic hero: Abs! Tap and flap through a series of perilous pitfalls while competing for high scores on multiple evolving battlefields. Abs will die (a LOT) on his quest to dethrone the devious Blood Queen, but the thrill of the hunt, dynamic soundtrack, and competitive leaderboards keeps players saying “just one more run.”

Seasoned Killer Queen veterans will feel right at home slamming berries into Warrior gates to gain their wings, outmaneuvering opponents in air-to-air combat, and combining power-ups to become the Totally-Not-Busted Speed Warrior. New players can quickly learn the skills they need to survive, and those skills also translate directly between the other games in the KQ Universe.

Abs vs. The Blood Queen unleashes tricky platforming to escape the undead hordes on Steam Early Access today.

The Early Access build debuts with two worlds: The Outskirts and Hell (things escalate quickly in this game!), with more worlds, bosses, and enemies currently in development. Launch also includes Daily, Monthly, and Random challenges, with arcade-style scoring and leaderboards to match. Not able to reach the high score today? With dynamic daily leaderboards, tomorrow’s a whole different story.

Games like Killer Queen live and die entirely by their community, so BumbleBear is moving AvBQ to Steam Early Access, following April’s successful Kickstarter. With continued input coming directly from their most dedicated player base, BumbleBear is committed to creating the best version of Abs vs. The Blood Queen possible.

“After our Kickstarter, we wanted to launch on Steam Early Access because we know that games like Killer Queen live and die entirely by their community,” said Josh DeBonis, president of BumbleBear Games. “Further input from our awesome dedicated player base will help with our commitment to create the best version of Abs vs. The Blood Queen possible.”

Key Features:

  • EXPLORATION - Make your way through brand-new, randomly generated worlds that will keep each playthrough feeling unique and challenging! Play on one-of-a-kind battlefields that are generated daily, monthly, or every time you die (which will probably be a lot.)
  • ARCADE-STYLE SCORING - What's the point of being good at something if you can't show off? Prove your might with Daily Challenges, and earn some sorely-needed bragging rights with Global Leaderboards! You may not have the high score today, but tomorrow's level could be a whole different story.
  • BATTLE-TESTED GAMEPLAY - Using the Killer Queen engine, ABS vs. THE BLOOD QUEEN will feel familar to Killer Queen veterans while staying accessible to newcomers. You want me to say the thing? Yeah, I'll say it -- EASY TO LEARN, DIFFICULT TO MASTER.
  • KEEP YOUR SKILLS SHARP - Kick berries, ride the snail, and take to the skies in aerial combat!
