by Rainier on Dec. 8, 2020 @ 10:05 a.m. PST

Heavy Metal Machines is a one-of-a-kind 4v4 multiplayer arena combat game where you deal devastating destruction to the beat of a raucous heavy metal soundtrack.

Heavy Metal Machines is a one-of-a-kind 4v4 online multiplayer arena combat game, retiring tried-and-true fantasy heroes for unique vehicular death machines, piloted by a cast of larger-than-life post-apocalyptic road warriors that deal devastating destruction to the beat of a raucous heavy metal soundtrack. The Heavy Metal Machines closed beta will feature eight playable characters and a progression system to unlock unique skills, skins and abilities. A training mode and daily quests to challenge beta participants will also be available.

In a post-apocalyptic landscape ravaged by its own inhabitants, society has been reforged through metal and madness. A new breed of gladiators delivers mayhem and relentless destruction through visceral vehicular combat. The rules for the arena are simple: two teams enter, one team leaves. The four-player team that succeeds in decimating the enemy’s base first wins. Forget gasoline - the Heavy Metal Machines and their insane drivers run on pure adrenaline!

After a successful launch on PC, Hoplon Infotainment will be inviting PS4 and Xbox One players to get behind the wheel in the Free-to-Play Multiplayer Online Vehicular Combat game Heavy Metal Machines early next year.

Players will be able team up with friends on any platform through cross-platform multiplayer and battle each other in post-apocalyptic arenas controlling a growing selection of vehicles and weapons.

“We’re very excited to bring Heavy Metal Machines to consoles. We’re looking forward to seeing console players join the fray and have people play with friends, no matter what platform they are on.” says Rodrigo Campos, CEO of Hoplon Entertainment.

While Heavy Metal Machines will be Free-to-Play on consoles, PS+ and GamePass users will see some additional benefits in the form of exclusive items on their accounts. Of course, items do not affect gameplay, ranging from emotes and sprays, awesome visual effects and unique skins/models. . In addition, users will be able to unlock free items by leveling up a Metal Pass, or by buying more items in the store with Fame, the currency you earn by just playing.

On PlayStation, all players will have access to the game, requiring no PlayStation Plus subscription

Heavy Metal Machines will also be compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
