'Black Desert Online' (ALL) Adds Charity Drive And Gifts On PC, New Character Class On Console

by Rainier on March 18, 2020 @ 12:55 p.m. PDT

Black Desert Online is an open-world action MMORPG with next-generation visuals and skill-based combat that rejuvenates the genre.

With the deepest character customization of any game currently on the market, Black Desert Online allows for unprecedented detail in character creation. Its intuitive controls, beautifully designed world, and extensive lore will enthrall both newcomers and veterans of MMO games and action RPGs.

Travel through the lands in search of treasure and adventure or become one of the top craftsmen in the land. Set up trade routes and breed horses or compete against other guilds in epic siege warfare.

Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss announced the start of the second part of Black Desert Online’s fourth anniversary celebrations. This week sees the start of a special charity drive for wildlife conservation and additionally, players can now start amassing powerful items during a new event.

The ‘Save the Wildlife’ charity event sees players taking part in an in-game event in which their contribution will help build towards a sizeable donation to the World Wide Fund for Nature. More information can be found on a special website that was created for this event.

This week also sees the start of the highly anticipated ‘Suppressed Boss Gear’ event. This event rewards players with powerful weapons and armor, perfect for players that want to jump right into high-end activities on offer in the hit-MMORPG. To receive the powerful weapons, players will just have to reach certain level milestones.

From level 56 to 58, each level will see the player being rewarded with a strong weapon for their character.  For the armor pieces, players will have to complete a series of challenges, such as slaying monsters or defeating summoned bosses.

Pearl Abyss launched Maehwa as a new playable character class for Black Desert on PS4 and Xbox One. An orphan child raised as the adopted daughter of a high-ranking military official, Maehwa trained her whole life to become a lethal fighter. Rising in the ranks, Maehwa honed her skill, and eventually found the power to wield the legendary blue flames of the Crescent Petal.

Maehwa employs melee and ranged combat. In awakening, she unlocks the Kerispear, a long polearm weapon that gives the Maehwa the ability to draw forth a blue flame.

Maehwa will launch with both her original and Awakening skills:

  • Divider skill - Maehwa charges forward and cuts enemies down with her blade.
  • Chaos: Red Moon - gives Maehwa the power of the Red Moon, allowing her to evade enemy sight and blindside them with an attack.
  • Petal Bloom - Maehwa can channel an icy aura into her Kerispear, driving the energy into a devastating thrust.
  • Frost Pillars - Maehwa momentarily slows down her enemies with an icy attack.
