'Liftoff: Drone Racing' (ALL) Shows Off Multiplayer, Gets PS4/XOne Date - Trailer

by Rainier on Sept. 11, 2020 @ 2:48 a.m. PDT

Liftoff: Drone Racing is a simulation game that translates the rush of fast-paced first-person view drone air racing to the digital world.

In Liftoff: Drone Racing, console players will experience the exciting and fast-paced world of the drone racing sport. This of course also includes competing against other FPV pilots in nerve-wracking races.

A good drone pilot knows not only how to fly properly but is also aware of the importance of proper preparations. From countless original licensed frames as well as individual parts the quadcopters can be customized to fit the individual needs of their pilot. When it comes to races, this customization will also help players to squeeze even the last, perhaps decisive, bit of efficiency out of the little machines.

The game will also offer different game modes for experienced pilots as well as newbies which will help them to improve their piloting skills at their own pace. Liftoff: Drone Racing will offer a dedicated "assisted flight" feature that will make drone racing easily accessible to every player on consoles.

In addition to a gripping single player campaign, the fast-paced drone racing simulation comes with a challenging multiplayer mode, in which up to six players get to compete in different game modes.

The multiplayer will be playable for up to six pilots. In three different modes players will compete against each other and get the maximum performance out of their respective drones. The classic races for example are all about reaching the finishing line as the first pilot. Whether in a forest, on a construction site or in an underground car park, on 12 unique maps with five different tracks each, every race is a brand-new challenge.

Just as action packed as the classic race is the Infinite race. Pilots do not compete directly against each other in these types of races but fight for the best lap time individually in order to be victorious in the end. An integrated leader board allows you to compare your lap times with other pilots around the world.

Not only races can be played together with other players. In Freestyle mode, up to six players can test the limits of the drones. Daring tricks and manoeuvres can be flown in this mode without any time pressure.

Liftoff: Drone Racing will also be part of the EGX Digital x PAX Online digital showfloor. Visitors of the event should definitely not miss out the official panel of astragon Entertainment. On September 15 at 3:00 p.m (BST)/8:00 a.m (PT). Here, viewers can discover unique gameplay footage of the fast-paced drone racing game and gain some further insights into the development process of this exceptional simulation game by Belgian developer LuGus Studios.

Currently available on PC (Steam), Liftoff: Drone Racing will be released for PS4 and Xbox One on November 10, 2020.
