Sierra officially announced The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, presenting a reinvention of 2004's Escape from Butcher Bay in HD, enhancements, as well as adding the Dark Athena chapter, an expansion of the original game with an exciting new story and new gameplay features.

The rumors have been flying ever since GameInformer mentioned it, but confirmation of a next-gen Chronicles of Riddick game comes through UK industry weekly, MCV. According to OXM there is a good reason why, as they reveal that Vivendi's action game might be making an appearance on Microsoft's next-gen console. A few days ago we had a story up about the possibility of StarBreeze/Vivendi bringing Riddick to the PC, today there is confirmation that this is not only true, but that StarBreeze/Vivendi are considering "multiple" sequels. Execs at publisher Vivendi Universal Games are so pleased, they already have a PC version timed for release with the DVD around the holidays and are strongly considering sequels.

Noticed on Homelan that they point to a new listing on EBGames indicating that Vivendi might be bringing Starbreeze's The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay to the PC. The listing has an estimated ship date for the PC port as November 15th 2004 (for the low price of $29.99), and while these online store listing are often nothing but wild rumours, an Xbox to PC port is not such a atretch.
