While it wasn't exactly a super secret, EA has yet to officially announce that DICE is working on the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. Apart from the upcoming Bad Company 2, most titles the Swedish studio has been working on were console iterations, but at a recent conference, EA's COO John Pleasants
confirmed Battlefield 3, saying that he "was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product." Don't get your hopes up just yet; it isn't due for quite a while.

An Electronic Arts
schedule for the New York Comic Con mentions Battlefield 1943: Pacific postcards being handed out, revealing EA DICE might be working on a new title in the series. While details seem sketchy, rumor has it that this will be a PS3/X360 title, while others also claim it to be coming to PC. As with previous titles in the franchise, Battlefield 1943: Pacific will be an online multiplayer game, and have you visit locations such as Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Wake Island. DICE had planned to announce new titles at a UK press event earlier this week, but heavy snowfall canceled those plans. More details coming soon!
