'WWE Raw' For The PC Ships

THQ Inc. and JAKKS Pacific, Inc. today announced the North American release of their newest World Wrestling Entertainment (NYSE:WWE) licensed video game, "WWE Raw" for the PC. "WWE Raw" allows players to go one-on-one with high-flying athletes and brutal brawlers in a variety of match types based on the poplar cable program that airs every Monday night on The Nashville Network. Videogame sales of THQ/JAKKS World Wrestling Entertainment license have exceeded more than $300 million in the U.S. since 1999.

"This past year THQ and JAKKS Pacific released three World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) licensed video games that were top performers at retail on the PlayStation(R) 2, Xbox(TM) and GameCube(TM) systems respectively," said Peter Dille, vice president, marketing, THQ. "We are now very excited to be bringing one of the most successful software licenses in the interactive entertainment market to the personal computer with `WWE(TM) Raw(TM)(R).'"

"WWE(TM) Raw(TM)(R)" showcases more than 35 Superstars from both "Raw(TM)" and "SmackDown!(TM)" in multiple match types including title matches and "King of the Ring(R)" tournaments. "WWE(TM) Raw(TM)(R)" captures the look and feel of World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) with a TV-style presentation featuring in-game cut away scenes and "Double Feature" replays. Dynamic lighting effects, pyrotechnics, camera flashes and multiple camera angles bring the action to life as Superstars enter the arena accompanied by signature TitanTron(TM) videos and music. Players can interfere with opponents on their way to the ring during Superstar entrances. Enhanced multiplayer capabilities including four-player tag team, handicap and triple threat match variations make "WWE(TM) Raw(TM)(R)" the definitive wrestling game for the personal computer.
