by Rainier on March 19, 2007 @ 3:38 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3)

Oblivion features a powerful combination of free-form gameplay, unprecedented graphics, cutting edge AI, character voices by acting legends Patrick Stewart, Sean Bean, Terrance Stamp, and Lynda Carter, and an award- winning soundtrack. Gamers can choose to unravel Oblivion's epic narrative at their own pace or explore the vast world in search of their own unique challenges.

After the mysterious and untimely death of the Emperor, the throne of Tamriel lies empty. With the Empire ready to crumble, the gates of Oblivion open and demons march upon the land -- laying waste to everything in their path. To turn the tide of darkness, you must find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel.

Released in March 2006 for Windows and Xbox 360, Oblivion has already earned countless awards from publications around the world and won numerous Game of the Year and RPG of the Year awards. Gamerankings.com and MetaCritic.com list Oblivion as the highest rated game of all time on Xbox 360. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB.

Tetris Evolution (Xbox 360)

Featuring new single and multiplayer gameplay modes, multiple customization options and Xbox Live capabilities, Tetris Evolution is the first next-generation version of the addictive puzzle game.

The first Tetris game released in 1985 for the PC. Since then, the game has released across nearly every game system and sold more than 70 million units worldwide. Over a three year span, THQ shipped more than two million units of Tetris Worlds for the Xbox, GBA and PC.

Tetris Evolution offers a variety of new modes and features, in addition to the traditional gameplay elements that Tetris fans have come to expect. The ability to download and customize themes, backgrounds, skins and icons is a first in the Tetris universe. In addition, all new gameplay modes include “Go Low,” “Eraser” and the cooperative mode “Hotseat” where multiple players can manipulate Tetriminos within the same matrix. Tetris Evolution allows up to four players to engage in competition on a single console or contend via Xbox Live. The new online ladder system also enables players to track their overall skill level and accumulate Xbox Live achievement points to increase their Gamerscore.

Tetris Evolution is rated “E” for everyone and is now available at retail outlets throughout North America for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
