Darksiders (PS3/X360)

Darksiders, an action-adventure game set on Earth one hundred years after the apocalypse, brings about the premature end of humanity. Developed by THQ’s internal development studio Vigil Games, Darksiders gives players control of War, one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, as he explores a demon-ravaged world and battles heaven and hell in an epic quest for vengeance and vindication.

Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of mankind, WAR – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – must return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible. War must take on the forces of Heaven and Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance. Players harness the apocalyptic power of War, combining brutal attacks and supernatural abilities to decimate enemies who stand in his way. With an extreme arsenal of weapons, War blazes a trail of destruction, and emerges even more deadly atop Ruin, War’s fiery phantom steed.

“THQ is starting 2010 off right, delivering yet another triple-A core title with Vigil Games’ highly anticipated Darksiders,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, THQ Core Games. “Darksiders turns action-adventure gaming on its head, providing the quality and variety this genre has been waiting for.”

“Darksiders offers tons of action, huge environments to explore and an epic storyline that literally determines the fate of heaven and hell,” said David Adams, General Manager, Vigil Games. “We seamlessly combined gameplay elements from multiple genres to create a cohesive, unique and compelling gameplay experience.”

Darksiders is now available at retail outlets nationwide for the X360 and PS3 for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
