About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

Beyond Good & Evil HD (XBLA)

Play as Jade, a young investigative reporter, and expose a terrible government conspiracy. Wary of her government's promises to repel the aliens for good, she sets out to capture the truth behind the prolonged war. Armed with a camera, a dai-jo staff, and fierce determination, it's your job to save your planet and its inhabitants.

Strategic Command WWI 1914-1918 The Great War (PC)

The flagship campaigns that come with this release cover the war in Europe starting with the great German offensive into France in August 1914 and ending with the final grand battles in France and Flanders in 1918. The battles fought on the Eastern Front and in the Italian, Balkan, and Middle Eastern theaters are all fully represented too.

Boasting new unit types and completely new features to cover trench warfare, aerial reconnaissance, shell supplies, national morale and more, the game engine has been redesigned so that it can thoroughly represent WWI. At the same time, the engine can still be used for WWII games so that players will now have the best of both worlds.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution (PC)

It is 10 years since the events of Chaos Rising and Sub-Sector Aurelia has been in a constant state of warfare with the Imperium struggling to retain control. The apparent betrayal of the chapter by Gabriel Angelos and his Space Marines has shaken the Blood Ravens and now the Imperial forces are beset on all sides by hostile aliens. Retribution allows the player to select the race of their choosing in a battle to determine the very survival or destruction of the entire sector.

The game features campaigns for the Orks, Eldar, Tyranids, Imperial Guard, Chaos and Space Marines. In addition to the multi race single-player campaign, Dawn of War II - Retribution also features new multiplayer units, maps and an entire new playable faction. Retribution adds the all-new Imperial Guard faction to multiplayer as well as new maps, new units for all existing races, new super-heavy units and an all new Last Stand hero and map. Retribution is also a Steamworks title and comes bundled with STEAM achievements, matchmaking and chat functionality. Players will also be able to purchase the pre-order race-specific armour packs from Steam for a suggested price of $0.99 each or all six for $4.99.
