Obsidian and SEGA Confirm Aliens RPG is No More, Canceled

Last year, SEGA announced that it had several Aliens projects in the works: an FPS by Gearbox and an RPG by former Black Isle Studios devs, Obsidian. When SEGA announced it has tasked UK-based Rebellion to develop a new Aliens vs. Predator game, rumors started flying about the demise of Gearbox's FPS and Obsidian's RPG, but while Aliens: Colonial Marines is confirmed to be in development, Obsidian today revealed that its RPG is dead in the water (since Feb.), and SEGA confirmed that it has no plans to move forward with the Aliens RPG ....

THQ Developing Peripheral-Based Game

With Activision's Guitar Hero being a phenomenon, EA's Rock Band going strong, and the branching out of the franchises (DJ Hero, latest Tony Hawk), it is only normal that other publishers/developers are jumping on the bandwagon. THQ chief executive Brian Farrell revealed that they are also working on a peripheral-based game, saying it's "different from anything else out there and will give us a competitive advantage," although whether or not it's a music-based game was not mentioned.
