Set in the near future, Shadow Ops: Red Mercury is a gritty, real-world first-person shooter (FPS) in which the player fills the combat boots of an elite Delta Force operative. When a female Russian double-agent discovers information on "Red Mercury" - a secret substance that can be used as a nuclear accelerant - the player is hand-picked by the National Security Agency (NSA) to pursue the Red Mercury before it is used to build backpack nuclear devices and sold to terrorist organizations. Activision is unleashing a one-man cybernetic wrecking crew with the announcement of TRINITY, a new first person action game for the PC and Xbox. Set in the year 2013, TRINITY transports players into a dark alternate future where a deadly plague threatens to destroy the city of New Orleans. As the mysterious "Nightstalker," a bio-technically enhanced one-man vigilante force, players will cut a swath of destruction through the Big Easy as they attempt to uncover the source of the deadly virus, and save the city from impending disaster. The PC version of the game is being created by Gray Matter Studios the development team behind Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The Xbox version is being developed by Vicarious Visions. TRINITY is expected to ship in 2004

Inspired by Hong Kong action films, the game lets players assume the role of tough-as-nails detective Nick Kang, bent on settling a personal vendetta with the L.A. underworld. As Kang, players will be able to dispense their own personal brand of justice through automotive combat, a variety of rib cracking martial arts moves and the business end of dual 45s.

Toronto-based Groove Games, a global publisher of interactive entertainment software, announced today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the signing of a game development deal with Brainbox Games. Also based in Toronto, Brainbox Games, a wholly owned subsidiary of Digital Extremes, will create two games under the agreement with the first title for the PC already in development.

Rise of Nations combines the epic scope of traditional turn-based strategy games with the fast-paced action of RTS games. The game allows players to create new cities, improve their city infrastructure and expand national borders. Players have the option to win through military might using everything from slingshots to cannons to stealth bombers, corner the market on key commodities, and wheel and deal with a wide variety of Nations. In the trial version, gamers can choose between four of the 18 nations featured in the retail version of Rise of Nations. Logitech today announced the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and Logitech Attack 3 joysticks for PC and Mac.
