'Manhunt 2' (PS2/Wii) Controversy Affecting Other Titles

Manhunt 2 was banned even before it saw the light of day; the ESRB slapped it with an AO, resulting in both Sony and Nintendo refusing to publish the game on its consoles. In an interview with C&GV, Condemned 2 producer Constantine Hantzopoulos admits that the controversy has led them to scale back the game's mature content and remove certain non-essential items.

Eight years after its predecessor, Atlus U.S.A. is bringing the latest RPG in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, Persona 3, to North America packaged in a special collector’s box with a tantalizing art book and wicked-awesome CD soundtrack. Due to a manufacturing issue with the art book Persona 3 has been pushed back a few weeks, until August 14.

Ubisoft Financial Result Reveals 'Splinter Cell Conviction' (ALL) Delay

Ubisoft released its sales figures for Q1 ended June 30, 2007, reporting that sales came to $180.66M, up 90.5% compared with the same period last year, driven by Rainbow Six Vegas, Surf's Up, and its back catalog. Unfortunately, it also revealed that Splinter Cell Conviction has been delayed until January-March of 2008.

Ubisoft Developing 'Avatar' (ALL) Game Based on James Cameron Movie

Ubisoft announced that it will develop/publish the game based on 20th Century Fox's Avatar, the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms, written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Cameron (Titanic, Aliens, Terminator, etc...).

Celebrating 20 years of MGS, Kojima Productions officially revealed Metal Gear Online, featuring characters, stages and the same control scheme as MGS 4. This reloaded MGO experience packs in additional environments, game modes, and team-based multiplayer mayhem. A closed beta starts today until Aug. 6, after which an open beta will commence on August 20.
