GameStop will host events on Mon., April 28, 2008, at over 3,500 of its U.S. stores for the launch of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV, which will include trivia contests, GTA character look-a-like contests and giveaways leading up to the 12:01 a.m. Tuesday release. Most participating GameStop locations will begin their events after 9:00 p.m. local time; however, customers are encouraged to contact their local store to confirm the exact time of the event.

Sony, still playing catchup after the recent Playstation Store revamp, rolled out a new update with the Eye of Judgment Card Expansion Set 2 ($14.99), Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack ($9.99), Army of Two SSC Challenge Map Pack ($7.49). Rock Band gets Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance album and Motley Crue's Saints of Los Angeles, Guitar Hero III gets the Def Leppard track pack ($6.25), while Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore gets downloadable songs for $1.49 each. There are demos for Iron Man and echochrome, as well as the usual slew of game/movie trailers and PS3 themes.

2K Games' Mafia II features a deep mobster-driven narrative packed with both behind-the-wheel and on-foot action, developed by the original creators Illusion Softworks.

Ubisoft reported sales figures for the Q4 of its fiscal year 2007/2008, with sales up 10%, full year sales up 36 % to $1.32 billion, mainly driven by strong performances from Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2, The Games For Everyone Brands and Assassin's Creed. Ubisoft also announced it will be recruiting for 900 positions in the next 12 months for its various studios.

NCsoft announced the release of Hellbound, the newest addition to the Lineage II franchise, in conjunction with its 4th Anniversary Edition retail package. Continuing the storyline and content from December’s expansion Kamael, Hellbound increases the game’s level capacity to 85 and adds significant quests and skills.
