A psychologist at the University of Bolton has shown in a study investigating levels of gaming addiction that Internet computer gaming is potentially damaging for players' work, home and social life, but 10% less widespread as previously indicated.

As a follow-up to our previous story about Juarez Mayor Héctor Murguía Lardizábal's outrage over the fact that Ubisoft's GRAW 2 depicts his town in a bad light, Mexican newspaper El Diario is now reporting that the governor of Chihuahua, Jose Reyes Baeza Terraces, has basically outlawed the game and ordered to seize all retail copies. Mexican border town Juarez, a known hotbed for all sorts of criminals, is one of the locations in GRAW 2 where you hunt down terrorists (thanks GamePolitics).

SEGA is working on an expansion pack for its 3D RTS game Medieval 2: Total War. While details are still limited the Kingdom addon will include 4 new campaigns, 13 new factions with no less than 150 new units. No mention of a tentative release date was revealed, but an official announcement is expected soon ...

'Galactic Civilizations II Gold' - Demo Available NOW

Galactic Civilizations II Gold is the retail version of GalCiv 2 and the Dark Avatar expansion, eliminating of two of the game’s alien races but introducing several new ones. This demo includes all features from the game+ expansion, but restricted to 150 turns, medium-Sized Galaxies Only, hard coded to the mid-range settings on all setup options, no scenarios, no custom maps, and playable up to 4 players per game (i.e. 3 computer-controlled).
