According to a lawsuit filed with the LA Superior Court, son of The Godfather author Mario Puzo
sued Paramount Pictures for $1 million in damages for breach of contract over unpaid revenue from EA's video game adaptation of the movie trilogy, based on Puzo's book. In 1992 Paramount signed a deal with Puzo to pay revenue of any audio-visual products with elements of The Godfather movies, which it has not received since EA licensed the material in 2006.

NPD Group announced that video game software sales in 2007 reached a new record of $9.5 billion, a 28% increase compared to last year. Console games amounted to $6.6 billion, PC titles $910.7 million and handhelds a record $2.0 billion.
