Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced a rebate program for its forthcoming Chessmaster 9000 PC title. Under the program, current Chessmaster owners will receive a $10 rebate when they upgrade to Chessmaster 9000 from any previous version of Chessmaster, starting with Chessmaster 4000. Chessmaster 9000 has an MSRP of $39.99, and will ship to U.S. and Canadian retail shelves on August 27, 2002.

Ubi Soft and ubi.com unveiled the details of a first-ever limited edition Shadowbane pre-order box which will contain a code to unlock three restricted races in the final version of Shadowbane. Shadowbane is the highly-anticipated, fantasy-based massively multiplayer online (MMO) game scheduled for release this November.

Ubi.com and Ubi Soft, the publishers of Shadowbane, are now accepting additional applications to be a beta tester of Shadowbane, the fantasy-based, massively multiplayer online (MMO) game slated for launch later this year. Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced that it has entered into a publishing agreement under which 1C: Maddox Games will develop new content for the multi-award winning WWII combat flight simulation title, IL-2 Sturmovik. IL2-Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles will include two new maps for Finland and Hungary, expanding the battlefield for both single and multiplayer modes. It will also feature more than 20 new single player missions and ten cooperative multiplayer missions. IL2-Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles is expected to ship to retail stores worldwide in Fall 2002.

We now have word (and proof *g*) that they are planning to release a Real Time Strategy-pack (named RTS including Battle Realms, Settlers IV and Shogun: Total War), a EverQuest Gold Edition (including classic Everquest, The Ruins Of Kunark, The scars Of Velious and Shadows Of Luclin), a Worms Battle Pack (containing Worms 2, Worms Armageddon and Worms World Party) and last but not least Myst Trilogy (Myst, Riven and Myst III: Exile). Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced the development of XIII, a unique first-person shooter (FPS) game that creates a completely interactive graphic novel within a cel-shaded world. XIII is based on the comic license of the same name from Belgium comic book author, Jean Van Hamme, and the game will be powered with next-generation Unreal Engine technology.
