MonkeyPaw Games, started by Hudson Entertainment President John Greine, announced that at E3 it will unveil its strategy of bringing "culturally different" Japanese games to the Western markets. As part of Hudson, Greine oversaw the launch of the TurboGrafx-16 platform, bringing over many Japanese favorites, stating that "Japan is a mecca of gaming lore and a crypt for many of the best games that MonkeyPaw is going to resurrect."
