Game Boy Advance to get Bluetooth

by Thomas on Dec. 27, 2001 @ 7:26 p.m. PST

A Bluetooth wireless adapter that allows Game Boy Advances to play multiplayer games without leads and access the Internet is to launch next year.

Wireless products specialist nReach has said that it will produce a Bluetooth wireless adapter for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance handheld game machine. According to nReach, the device will allow Game Boy Advance owners to join multiplayer games without the need for wires to connect the machines. The device will also allow the Game Boy units to access Internet content sans wires from a Bluetooth-enabled PC, the company said.

Currently, Game Boy Advance units can only link with one other via a special cable. The company expects to have the device on the market in the second quarter of 2002 at a price yet to be announced.
