Delta Force Storms the PlayStation 2

by Thomas on Dec. 7, 2001 @ 10:56 a.m. PST

Entertainment software developer and publisher NovaLogic officially announced today that their globally successful Delta Force(R) franchise will be coming to the PlayStation(R)2 in Fall 2002.

Delta Force will be the first title developed by NovaLogic for the next generation system.

The Delta Force franchise set the standard in first person military shooters when it debuted in 1998. Three titles later the series has sold more than 2.6 million copies, providing gamers around the world with the ultimate experience in virtual military action. "We are looking forward to bringing the one-of-a-kind Delta Force combat to PlayStation(R)2," stated NovaLogic President Lee Milligan. "Developing for this powerful hardware is the perfect opportunity to create an action-packed Delta Force game for the console audience, while retaining the brand's true essence."

Delta Force on PlayStation(R)2 will offer gamers intense first and third person shooter action, with missions split between close quarters combat and long-range engagements, a staple of the Delta Force franchise. The adjustable scope on the sniper rifle will bring the enemy and surrounding terrain into vivid detail, allowing the player to pull the trigger first, often from a concealed position. The massive extent of the gameplay area, made up of desert, forest, arctic and other terrain, will be set in real-world locations. A full range of actual military weapons will be available to the player.
