One of the Internet’s best-kept secrets will be revealed to PC games-players in February, when CDV Software Entertainment UK releases Combat Mission Gold – a compilation of the best-selling turn-based strategy title, which until now has been available for purchase only via mail-order. Facts and some screens below!

Special two-disc compilation pack of top rated strategy game, featuring mods, new scenarios, units and skins.

Combat Mission is a highly-rated turn-based strategy title, depicting the fighting on the western front of World War II between the D-Day invasion of Normandy and the end of the war. On its original release in June 2000, it received rave reviews, gleaning a host of awards from magazines the world over. Its current Gamespot.com score is 9.1/10, and having achieved “Editors Choice” at the likes of Wargamer.com, Adrenaline Vault, and the Gold Award from Gamesdomain.

CDV UK’s boxed version will for the first time collate a host of game modifications which enhance the game no end. Over 80 of these modifications are included on the special two-disc set, offering enhancements such as additional scenarios, maps, vehicles and infantry. Additionally, this version will provide Combat Mission commanders with a fully-bound manual, a luxury the mail-order version does without.

“Combat Mission is a strategy game with huge appeal,” says Terry Malham, President, CDV Software Entertainment UK, “yet until now it has escaped the attention of traditional shop-going gamers. Our two-disc premium pack offers exceptional value for money, treating games players to a year and a half’s worth of mods. Combat Missions deserves to be recognised as one of the leading strategy games available – and CDV Software Entertainment UK is proud to be the originator of this pack.”

Combat Missions will be available for PC CD-ROM on during mid-February 2002, priced £29.99.
