by Thomas on Oct. 3, 2002 @ 2:21 p.m. PDT

Today Global Star Software, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive announced that they have gone gold with their upcoming airline management simulation for the PC platform, Airlines 2.

This much anticipated release from Global Star will place aspiring airline executives at the helm of a fledgling Airline in 1960, when the entire industry is still in its infancy. From there, players must build their Airline into the world's leading carrier. Players will control every aspect of their business, from the types planes in the sky, to the cities they service, not to mention every financial nuance, such as stock distribution, acquiring commodity companies to boost transport profits, and even distributing dividends to shareholders. Airlines 2 will feature over 100 authentic planes to choose from, 250 destinations around the globe and an in-depth virtual economy in which over 100 companies trade shares on an open exchange.

Airlines 2 was developed by InterActive Vision, and will hit stores across North America at an expected price of $29.99. It has been rated "E for Everyone" by the ESRB
