by Thomas on Feb. 25, 2002 @ 2:07 p.m. PST

The Italian Job, based on the classic film starring Michael Caine, was released on Sony Playstation in October 2001. It was an immediate success, charting at number one in the Playstation charts for four weeks and remaining in the Top 10 ever since.

The agreement grants exclusive North American distribution rights to Take Two in return for guaranteed income and further royalties depending on the success of the game. Take Two, who are one of North America’s leading games publishers, will be responsible for marketing and distributing the product in North America. Take Two’s recent successful titles have included Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne.

Jane Cavanagh, Chief Executive of SCi commented:

“We are delighted to be working with Take Two who are one of the most exciting companies in the American market. The Italian Job has already proved extremely successful in the UK and Europe. We believe that it has very exciting sales potential in this important territory”
