by Thomas on April 15, 2002 @ 9:26 a.m. PDT

Good news for German online gamers: Funcom and the German gamigo AG are going to open a dimension of Anarchy Online for German gamers. This cooperation is a further step towards improving the accessibility of Anarchy Online in Germany.

Funcom enters cooperation with gamigo AG

Anarchy Online is the newest generation of Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Games (MMORPG) with several dimentions catering for thousands of players simultanously. The German dimension will be staffed by German speaking Gamemasters and ARKs (Advisors of Rubi-Ka), and gamigo will also provide regular customer service outside the game. The game itself will remain in English for now.

In addition to the German dimension, there will be a new official Anarchy Online website in German keeping the players updated with the latest news and developments of the game.

"We are very happy! gamigo is the perfect partner whose experiences in customer support and community building for online games will help us form ideal synergies to greatly improve the accessibility of Anarchy Online for German players", says André Backen, president of Funcom, in regards to the cooperation with gamigo AG.

Recently being awarded "Best MMORPG 2001" in PC Gamer (US) as well as "Best Multi-Player Game" at ECTS 2001, Anarchy Online offers a fascinating gaming experience in a living, thriving virtual world. Players have to choose sides in an epic struggle over the control of the planet Rubi-Ka, almost 30,000 years in the future. The game particularly stands out because of its great graphics, depth of gameplay and variety in character customization.

Players who own a copy of Anarchy Online already (be it retail version or magazine CD) don’t have to worry about compatibility issues. All versions of Anarchy Online will be compatible with the German AO-Server.

The German dimension will launch in early May. More details will be announced shortly, including information about the upcoming German betatest.
