'Big Scale Racing' Finds A Publisher

by Thomas on July 30, 2002 @ 5:27 p.m. PDT

Hot on the heels of its success with Duke Nukem - Manhattan Project, leading European independent publisher HD Interactive of Amsterdam is burning rubber with its next PC release. Developed by Bumblebeast, Big Scale Racing (BSR) is more than just a race game. It's a true simulation of the compelling sport of 'big' radio controlled car racing with 1/5th scale vehicles that are an exact representation of the cars that compete on model racetracks around the world.

Starting with the easier Standard Class cars and Training or Quick Race modes, you battle your way through Cup Championships to compete against 240 AI opponents in the Open Championship, upgrading to more powerful and light-weight Hopped Class cars that will test your driving skills to the ultimate.

With multi-player LAN options for up to eight drivers; split-screen two player mode or single player, BSR features an extremely advanced physics engine, realistically detail weather effects and a series of increasingly difficult tracks designed with the help of model race club experts.

"Big Scale Racing is high-paced, rubber burning action with skill settings that make it easy to learn but hard to master. Definitely not recommended for the faint hearted," said Mike Klumper, Managing Director of HD Interactive. "We are thrilled to have secured exclusive European rights to this title. It combines precision simulation with hours of addictive gameplay and that makes it great value for money in the mid price range."

Supported by an extensive PR and marketing campaign, BSR releases in the UK at the end of September with an RRP of £19.99.
