"TRON 2.0 is the doorway to the enormous TRON game universe. The mod tools provide powerful tools and endless opportunities to expand the TRON world by giving 'users' the ability to create their own single and multiplayer levels," said Bob Picunko, director of marketing for Buena Vista Interactive. "Buena Vista Interactive is committed to building and supporting the mod community and the active TRON 2.0 fan base that have been anxiously awaiting the release of the mod tools."

Inspired by TRON, the ground-breaking science-fiction film, TRON 2.0 is a first-person PC game that delivers immersive story-driven gameplay packed with intense action, virtual viral villains and a unique visual style. Developed by critically acclaimed Monolith Productions, TRON 2.0 takes place in present day, approximately 20 years after the events of the film. Playing as Jet Bradley, son of ENCOM programmer Alan Bradley from the TRON film, gamers are digitized into cyberspace and will race on light cycles, battle corruption both inside and outside of the computer world, and explore locations including the Internet Hub, Firewall, Corrupted Server and Light Cycle Game Grid.

TRON 2.0 features the voice talent of original TRON cast members Bruce Boxleitner, who reprises his role as Alan Bradley, and Cindy Morgan, who portrays Ma3a (mah-THREE-ah), an artificial intelligence program, as well as Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, who provides the voice of Mercury, the undefeated champion light cycle racer who teams up with lead character Jet Bradley to combat corruption in the computer world. Syd Mead, renowned conceptual artist famous for his legendary design contributions to innovative films such as TRON, Bladerunner and Aliens, updated the iconic light cycles seen in the title.

The game also reunites two visionaries from the film, Steven Lisberger, director, story and screenplay writer, and Richard Taylor, visual and computer effects supervisor, both of who consulted on the project. Also included is music from original TRON composer, Wendy Carlos.

TRON 2.0 is Windows 98/Me/2000/XP compatible and available for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
