'Project Entropia' Gets Major Update

by Judy on Oct. 8, 2004 @ 2:36 a.m. PDT

Project Entropia announced that it is applying the 6.1 version update to the live servers adding a plethora of content ranging from a whole new continent, the start of the first real virtual land grab, and a full range of other improvements added. Read more for details ...

“The 6.1 update is a massive content upgrade, which would equal the launch of a huge expansion pack, or “Project Entropia II: Amethera”, if we were to use traditional box sales terminology”, Director of Concept Development Marco Behrmann says.

The main features in the update is without a doubt the addition of the new Amethera continent, which is about three times the size of the existing land mass available in Project Entropia making the total landmass available to date some 800 sq km. On the Amethera continent the first ever real virtual land grab will take place, where Project Entropia participants battle for control and taxation right of the available land areas, meaning grand and exciting real-time PvP combat for those involved.

Additional content added in the upgrade is a teaching system, a bunch of new creatures and items, dynamic lighting, and much more. For a complete content list of updates, please see https://www.project-entropia.com/StdContent.ajp?Id=1416

Project Entropia is more than a traditional MMORPG, it is a true virtual universe with over 160 000 registered accounts and increasing with some 2000 accounts per week. The Project Entropia software is available to users free of charge with no monthly costs or associated subscription fees. Project Entropia actively supports sales of virtual products with actual cash value within its real economy system. The economy offers the user a secure and safe way to make purchases, sales and exchange real life currency into PED (Project Entropia Dollars) and back again into real money. The fixed exchange rate is 1 US Dollar equals 10 PED. PED allows members to invest in personal development and growth through the acquisition of goods, buildings, and land in the Entropia universe. Project Entropia’s economy turnover is expected to reach beyond 60M USD in 2004.
