The launch of Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed has created new avenues of fun for pilots and produced an economic boon to the game's shipwright professionals.
Master Shipwrights are reporting huge sales for quality iconic ships. "Your average X-wing sells for about 220,000 credits on the open market in game, while ships crafted by highly skilled shipwrights can command even more. Business is very brisk!" says Ackoman, a Master Shipwright on the Ahazi server.
Recognizing that amassing over 200,000 credits for a brand new player can be a daunting task, the game's developers have significantly improved the starter ships for all three novice piloting professions. Starting craft are now upgradeable with better components and come standard with a hyperdrive for faster adventuring throughout space.
And both brand new and active players with Jump to Lightspeed will receive a 75,000 credit bonus automatically added to their accounts to aid in the purchase of high level ship components.
For those interested in creating their own saga in the Star Wars universe (including the entire Jump to Lightspeed experience), starting December 17, 2004, FilePlanet.com will host a 10 day free trial.
