About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'The Movies' (Xbox/PC) Logo Competition Winners Announced

by Judy on Dec. 8, 2004 @ 9:54 p.m. PST

Imagine you could make any movie you wanted to. Imagine you could pluck someone from obscurity and make him or her the hottest star in Tinseltown. Imagine that you had control of an entire movie studio, competing with others to create a string of box office smashes. Imagine being able to use your judgement alone, deciding whether success lies with epic action pictures or lots of low budget hammy 'B' movies.

The winning logos will be featured in Lionhead’s upcoming PC life simulation game, The Movies, as one of many different designs that players can select to represent their movie studio. The logo will appear on everything from entry gates and crew clothing to opening film credits and more. The winning designs, which were judged from hundreds of entries by the art team at Lionhead Studios, can be viewed at www.themoviesgame.com.

Developed by Lionhead Studios and Peter Molyneux, a pioneer in the “life simulation” genre, The Movies lets gamers become Hollywood players by creating unique movies and releasing them from the studios they build, starring the actors they discover and develop. The game has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
