Football Comes Home Early As Konami Reveals Game Stars Live Will Give Players The First Chance to Play Pro Evolution Soccer 4; Dancing Stage Fusion and Karaoke Stage Also Receive Public Debuts. As preparations for Game Stars Live continue apace, Konami has revealed that it will be using the massive consumer event to unveil football favourite Pro Evolution Soccer 4 to the public for the very first time.

Game Stars Live (www.gamestarslive.com) runs from September 1st to September 5th at London’s impressive ExCeL exhibition facility in Docklands, and will boast a show floor the size of three football pitches filled with the latest games, gadgets and gizmos. Open to the public, it will be the first chance for the young and old alike to road-test the hottest new technology.

The eagerly-waited follow-up to last year’s multi-award-winning football favourite Pro Evolution Soccer 3 will be on show within one of Game Stars Live’s ‘Bear Pit’ areas, with a special tournament running throughout the show.

Konami will also be showing the latest in the million-selling Dancing Stage series – Dancing Stage Fusion – and singalong title, Karaoke Stage, in its themed Groove Zone area. Both titles see Konami continuing their quest to open video games to a wider audience, with Dancing Stage Fusion marking yet another major advance for the original and best dance mat franchise. Dancing Stage Fusion features compatibility with Sony’s EyeToy USB camera for PlayStation 2, and gamers will be able to watch themselves on screen as the game puts them through their paces. Likewise, wannabe divas and pop stars will be able to test their vocal abilities within special Karaoke Stage booths, showcasing Konami’s brilliant party game.

Konami will line-up alongside many other major players in the computer and video games business, each of which is expected to be showcasing its key Christmas titles months ahead of their release. Exhibitors confirmed for the show include Acclaim, Activision, Atari, Eidos, EA Games, Gizmondo, Nokia, Nintendo and Ubisoft – among many more to be announced. Each of the exhibitors is expected to confirm its Game Stars Live line-up shortly.

Game Stars Live is based on the ITV video and computer games show, Game Stars. It will be a multi-format consumer gaming event and will include a main stage area from which the media partners including ITV and Kiss FM will broadcast. It will also include a series of features such as The Bear Pit games challenges, The Virtual vs. Reality Zone, The European Online Gaming Championships, and Get Into Gaming, a careers and education zone, amongst many others.

Tickets for Game Stars Live are on-sale now at www.gamestarslive.co.uk, priced £10 in advance or £12 on the door.
