As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'Gametrak: Real World Golf' (PS2/PC) on Display at EGN - Screens

by Judy on Aug. 11, 2004 @ 7:10 a.m. PDT

The launch of In2Games' Gametrak motion system is almost here, as the controller will be unveiled to the UK public for the first time at Gamestars Live, with a simultaneous trade presence at EGN on September 1st and a German debut at Leipzig's Games Convention from August 19.

Expandability is the key to the development of the Gametrak system into 2005 and beyond. The forthcoming launch of Gametrak: Real World Golf – the only golf game where your swing is tracked and translated into the game – will be introduced onto PC and PS2 in Q1 2005 and showcased for the first time to consumers at the Gamestars Live event.

Currently in development by UK developer Aqua Pacific, Gametrak: Real World Golf is another Gametrak-exclusive title. No complex button presses, no confusing power bars. Just pick up your club and swing. Gametrak tracks your swing with pixel-perfect accuracy, for the most realistic golf game ever made.

Four years in development, Gametrak will launch in Europe bundled with the Gametrak-exclusive PS2 fighting game, Dark Wind. Already listed in this season's Argos catalogue and listed by all major retailers in UK and Germany, Gametrak: Dark Wind will retail at £69.99 (€99.99). This price includes the Gametrak 3D controller, Foot Mat, Fighting Gloves and PS2 Dark Wind.

Gametrak is distributed by Big Ben Interactive in the UK and Atari/Seven M in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

"The response we've had to date from press and retail has shown us that Gametrak has to be seen to be believed," commented In2Games MD Elliott Myers. We are hugely excited that we are finally able to show Gametrak to the public. With Golf and further sport-linked genres currently in development, Gametrak offers the industry the expandability and play value of no other gaming system to date."
