About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'Spy Fiction' (PS2) - Screens

by Judy on Aug. 31, 2004 @ 12:40 p.m. PDT

"Spy Fiction" follows the exploits of two special agents in an underground spy agency. As members of the elite S.E.A. Phantom strike squad, Bishop and Sheila are dispatched to disable a diabolical plot that begins with an ominous message sent to world governments. To spare millions of lives from a new horrific biotech weapon, they must embark on missions spanning the globe to seek and destroy a shadowy terrorist organization.

"Spy Fiction" delivers a new experience in the action-stealth genre with a host of novel spy gadgets and weapons. The game introduces new elements to stealth, including an optical camouflage suit that allows for limited invisibility and the revolutionary ability to assume the appearance of any character in the game. With all-new gameplay features, an exciting mix of high-action and stealth, action-oriented mini-games and a superbly written, thrilling storyline, "Spy Fiction" promises to create an interactive experience derived from the spy genre's most defining films.

These new screens emphasize the variety of original spy gadgets players will find in the game, including the revolutionary system that allows players to assume the appearance, voice and other identifying characteristics of nearly every character they encounter. "Spy Fiction" gives players access to a spy kit replete with innovative gadgets designed to keep the game play in high gear, from handy Spider Grips and deadly Bandage Bombs to numerous clandestine devices such as Boomerang Cards, Stun Shaver, Good Night Ring, Flash Pencil, Jammer Phone and more. And with two playable characters with diverging mission paths, action-oriented mini-games and alternate endings in a twisted plot based on identity theft, "Spy Fiction" promises unprecedented variety and high-octane game play for a stealth-action game.

"Spy Fiction" is planned for release in September 2004 and is rated M for Mature by the ESRB.
