This is the first time any Xbox title has demonstrated a multiplayer experience of up to 50 players on Xbox Live, with the current standard being 16 players. DF - BHD has been redeveloped for the console specifically to take advantage of Xbox Live.
Xbox Live features for DF - BHD on Xbox include team support, stats, voice chat, messaging, matchmaking and more. In addition to the record breaking 50 player games online, DF - BHD also supports 8 multiplayer game types over a variety of different multiplayer environments, as well as 4 player split screen co-op and Xbox communicator headset support.
"DF - BHD on Xbox delivers what no other console title can. As well as a strong single player campaign the game drops you into the action-packed chaos of modern warfare with 49 other gamers," commented Lee Milligan, President of NovaLogic Inc. "We are ecstatic that we have been able to deliver next-generation multiplayer gaming to existing Xbox Live users before the next-gen consoles arrive."
"Xbox Live continues to set the standard for online gameplay and the multiplayer experience on Delta Force - Black Hawk Down is a true embodiment of that promise," said Cameron Ferroni, general manager of Xbox Live. "The future of Xbox Live is limitless, and we are excited about the new possibilities being opened today by Delta Force - Black Hawk Down."
Delta Force - Black Hawk Down is scheduled to ship on Xbox during Quarter 2, 2005.
