Logitech to Offer Licensed X360 Products

by Judy on May 25, 2005 @ 3:54 a.m. PDT

Logitech today announced plans to manufacture officially licensed peripherals for the Xbox 360. Logitech currently makes a family of award-winning controllers for Xbox, featuring gamepads, a steering wheel and a headset.

"One of the best ways for gamers to take advantage of the graphics, games and processing speed of Xbox 360 is with first-class peripherals," said Fred Swan, Logitech's director of strategic marketing for interactive entertainment. "Like our current controllers, the products for Xbox 360 will be designed to give gamers the edge they want -- and need -- to be the best."

Logitech has firmly established itself as a market and technology leader in the console gaming market. During Logitech's fiscal year 2005, which ended March 31, worldwide sales of Logitech console gaming products grew by 172 percent. Support of the Xbox 360 console is a natural next step in Logitech's continuing relationship with Microsoft.

Logitech plans to begin selling the first of its new peripherals when Xbox 360 becomes available. More details about Logitech's products will be made available later this year.
