Players can step into the BF2 Combat world by embarking on the Battlefield 2 Tour of Duty. Located at http://www.bf2combat.net, the 'meta game' features multiple large-scale 10 hour battles every week. The Tour of Duty lets members duke it out across three theaters in a dynamically updating, ever-expanding conflict. The website's central battle map updates after every three month tour, offering new paths and possibilities. BF2 Combat allows players to qualify for a variety of distinctions and even participate in a training program designed by ex-U.S. Army Rangers. BF2 Combat also boasts the Clan Fusion program, which allows clans or LAN centers to join in groups of up to 50 and play with the same unit.
"Planet Combat's BF2 Combat Tour of Duty for Battlefield 2 is a great complement to the game's immersive gameplay, providing an environment where novice gamers can learn from experts and where well-coordinated teams have the ability to dominate huge online battles," said Darren Montgomery, Product Manager at EA.
To further empower the Battlefield 2 community, Planet Combat is making their administration program available to gamers worldwide. The ranked server program allows players to assist in creating unique, dynamic communities on public servers. The first of its kind initiative is designed to heighten users' experiences by encouraging cooperative play.
"The innovative ranked server program will give players worldwide the chance to positively impact the places they play," said Jeff Derouchie, the director of the Ranked Server Program.
Developed by Digital Illusions in Sweden, the creators of the original Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 is rated "T" (Teen) by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $49.99.
