According to Variety, City of Heroes producer Tom DeSanto has obtained the rights to turn the MMORPG into a live-action movie and possibly a tv series because he sees City of Heroes as "the next big superhero franchise." City of Heroes is about superheroes teaming up to defend Paragon City from a catastrophic alien invasion. DeSanto is a co-producer on the upcoming "Transformers" film and was executive producer of the first two "X-Men" movies.
