'Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves' Confirms More Platforms, Unveils Two Characters - Screens & Trailer

by Judy on June 7, 2024 @ 9:31 p.m. PDT

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves features new and fan-favorite characters, a REV system that offers offensive options to ignite fights, and classic battle systems evolved for modern play, all wrapped in a riveting art style.

The Fatal Fury series first hit the market in 1991, spearheading the fighting game boom of the 1990s that swept the industry thereafter. Garou: Mark Of the Wolves (released in 1999) has, for some time, served as the franchise's most recent installment.

Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves features a unique art style that stimulates the senses, new and familiar characters in the fray, an innovative REV System that supercharges the excitement, and a host of other battle systems even more robust than before.

Iconic characters from Fatal Fury and Garou: Mark Of the Wolves are ready to rumble once again.

The REV System, a toolset making its Fatal Fury debut, offers unique offensive options from when the battle begins. Players can use REV Arts, REV Accel, REV Blows (while S.P.G. is active), and more until you hit your limit and the REV Meter overheats. Balance your heat level and keep the pressure on your opponent to fight at full throttle!

Many classic Fatal Fury battle systems are back in full force, including Combination Attacks, Just Defense, Braking, Dodge Attacks, and Feints. These systems return to the fold after more than 25 years and have evolved for the modern day. Buckle up for red-hot action and competitive fights to the finish!

Players can choose from two control schemes: Arcade Style is based on precise, technical inputs, while Smart Style lets you perform flashy special moves and combos using directional inputs and single button presses. From fighting game newcomers to seasoned veterans, everyone will be tricked out with the right controls — tailored specifically to your level.

SNK announced that a new character, the street assassin Vox Reaper, and the fan favorite B. Jenet have joined the fighter lineup in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. SNK's upcoming fighting game is set to release in early 2025 and will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam / Epic Games Store).

Enter the Fray with Vox and Jenet

  • Vox Reaper
    • Voice Actors: Erik Ransom (EN), Toshiyuki Toyonaga (JA)
    • Bio: This street assassin is dispatched to hunt down and eliminate Kain R. Heinlein. Though the attempt was thwarted, he emerges from the encounter hardly worse for wear. Kain's bodyguard Grant, having realized the youth's talent and potential, decides to take him under his wing thereafter. Afforded a new lease on life, and intent on fulfilling his dying master's wishes (not to mention Kain's own grandiose ambitions), Vox stalks the bloody battleground that is South Town — a demon reborn.

  • B. Jenet
    • Voice Actors: Amber Lee Connors (EN), Mikako Komatsu (JA)
    • Bio: Captain of the Lilien Knights, a crew of virtuous pirates, B. Jenet makes an altogether uncharacteristic decision. With Kain and Grant weighing on her mind during and after the events of the previous tournament, she chooses to stay in South Town, if not for a short while. Strangely unable to express her lingering thoughts out loud, she sees the upcoming KOF tournament as a true blessing in disguise: a chance to speak through action instead of words!

Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves includes a host of other fresh features and elements in addition to those mentioned above. Stay tuned for more updates.

Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam / Epic Games Store) in 2025.
