2. 'Beyond Good & Evil 2' (PS4/XOne/PC)

Beyond Good & Evil 2 acts as a prequel that will transport players into a profoundly multicultural world, capturing the spirit of the original with unforgettable characters, grandiose decors and intense dramas that play out across a vast universe.

Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: Few sequels have been as long-awaited as the follow-up to Ubisoft's cult classic. While Beyond Good and Evil 2 is technically a prequel, it will revisit the world but provide new context and backstory to the characters. The new and expanded world looks like it has a lot of potential, and it'll be awesome to finally see the long-awaited game in action.

Rhi Mitera: Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been languishing in development hell for a long time, but 2019 seems to be a good year for long-awaited sequels. I hope this one lives up to the hype.

David Silbert: To this day, the original Beyond Good & Evil still feels ahead of its time. The adventures of Jade and Pey'j were thrilling, placing players in a world filled with bizarre denizens and imaginative imagery that would feel right at home in sci-fi flicks like "Blade Runner" and "The Fifth Element." It was short, and it ended on one heck of a cliffhanger, but BG&E remains a must-play for fans of action-adventure games. With Beyond Good & Evil 2, Michel Ancel looks to capitalize on today's technology to craft a world that would have seemed impossible back in 2003. Knowing the series' penchant for bucking trends, however, I'll bet that BG&E2 will do far more than just "be larger" when it launches in the near future.

Fran Soto: It's been since 2003 that we've been waiting for something new for the Beyond Good & Evil 2 story. Originally imagined as a trilogy, this upcoming installment of the franchise has been confirmed as a prequel to the first game. Because of the massive amount of world-building and critically acclaimed story, this second installment is promising some big things to come. A thrilling mystery, gorgeous space aesthetics and exploration put Beyond Good & Evil 2 on our watchlist.

Thomas Wilde: If this actually comes out, we'll know that the apocalypse is nigh. Like Anthem, I'm mostly curious about what it'll end up being, three full hardware generations later, after this long in the oven. It'll probably be weird and insane, but there's also that "Duke Nukem Forever syndrome" where it feels like it got hung up on systems and conventions the rest of us moved past five years ago or more. It won't be boring, though.
