20. 'Star Wars: Zero Company' (PS5, XSX, PC)

by Judy on Jan. 12, 2026 @ 12:00 a.m. PST

Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player turn-based tactics game where you command an elite squad through a gritty and authentic story set during the twilight of the Clone Wars.

Redmond Carolipio: I'm not a turn-based strategy guy by any means, but the trailer for Zero Company started to pique my interest, mainly because I'm always down for the whole "motley crew vs. the world" energy. The "war in the shadows" vibe also works because "Andor" heightened the interest level of Star Wars non-Jedi intrigue. Count me in.

Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: Don't tell anyone, but I am a sucker for turn-based strategy games. If you tell me that there's going to be a Star Wars one set in a gritty original story developed by former Firaxis devs, you're getting my undivided attention. If there ends up being a similar sort of base-building mechanic like in the X-COM games, I might need to call in sick the week the game comes out.

Adam Pavlacka: Star Wars games that don't directly interact with the movies are appealing because they let us explore more of the universe. As a turn-based tactics game, Zero Company should let us play with all of our favorite archetypes while delivering an original story. After the remaster of Final Fantasy Tactics, Zero Company will have a high bar to meet, but it's always great to see a new entry in the tactics genre.

Judy Thai: Adventure game fans have a lot to be excited about with Star Wars: Zero Company because it looks like a narrative-focused ride packed with mystery, exploration, and big Star Wars vibes. Building your own squad, making impactful choices, and diving into tactical missions makes it feel like an adventure where every decision matters. Getting to explore a brand-new slice of the Star Wars galaxy just sounds like pure, exciting fun.
