Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: The original Tomb Raider was a stunning game, creating a massive trap-filled adventure that hearkened back to the best of Indiana Jones, and it's no wonder the franchise has continued since then. Legacy of Atlantis is the second remake of the 1996 original, this time seemingly designed around combining the dual-wielding pistol action of the original game with the modern stylings of the reboot trilogy. While information is fairly scarce thus far, everything they've shown hints at an amazing revival for the illustrious Ms. Croft.
Cody Medellin: Legacy of Atlantis marks the third time someone has done something with Lara Croft's original adventure. The latest was 2024's remaster of the original trilogy, and Anniversary was a 2007 reimagining of the first game. This entry promises to be another reimagining, but the initial trailers showed off some new tools, so it seems like there are enough new twists to trip up those who are very familiar with the first game. With this title coming out before the recently announced brand-new entry in the franchise, Lara Croft fans have plenty to look forward to in the immediate future.
Adam Pavlacka: Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was revealed during the Game Awards last month, but we're still light on details. The trailer looked great, and Crystal Dynamics delivered the goods with the last three Tomb Raider games. If Legacy of Atlantis can kick off a new trilogy that's just as enjoyable, it'll be one hell of a ride.
