Dead or Alive 4 Coming Next Year

Tecmo Ltd. maker of the best- selling "Dead or Alive'' series of video software, plans to release the latest version of the action game next year. The new game will be a sequel to "Dead or Alive 3,'' the martial arts fighting game released exclusively for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox game console. Tecmo hasn't decided which console the sequel will be designed for as it is still in early development, President Junji Nakamura said in an interview. "Dead or Alive 3'' is the best-selling Xbox game in Japan and has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide, a level regarded as a blockbuster in the video-game industry. The company supplied "Dead or Alive 2'' for Sony Corp.'s PlayStation 2, and switched to Xbox because of that machine's better graphics. Read the rest here!

The Adventure Company, DreamCatcher's exclusive PC and console adventure games label, and Microïds, an international entertainment software developer and publisher, today announced their partnership for the US distribution of Syberia. Based on the agreement, The Adventure Company has been given the exclusive publishing and the distribution rights for Syberia in the US market.

TDK and Disney - Worldwide Licensing Agreement

TDK Mediactive, Inc. a global publisher of interactive entertainment software, and Disney Interactive today announced a worldwide licensing agreement for two popular Disney properties coming to movie theaters. A Disney theme park icon, "Haunted Mansion," will make its way to the big screen in 2003. The theatrical release of "Haunted Mansion" will be supported by TDK Mediactive on most major video game platforms in time for Halloween and the all-important holiday selling season. "Pirates of the Caribbean," the namesake of one of the most popular theme park attractions, will hit theaters as a major motion picture and will debut on major video game platforms, as well. Specific release dates for the movie and the games will be confirmed at a later date.

With the imminent release for the massive PC Strategy Game, Global Power, set for September, GMX Media today announces its second title set for release this year. Napoleon is a Real-Time Strategy game based on the battles that took place between 1803-1812. The game allows players to simulate Napoleon's historical battles on a large scale. According to a new study commissioned by the European Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) and carried out by Screen Digest, spending on these emerging services by European consumers will grow from Euros 127m in 2001 to Euros 6.5bn in 2006, a growth of over 5000 per cent.

Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided will immerse players in a persistent online recreation of the Star Wars universe, as portrayed in the classic Star Wars film trilogy. Day of Defeat Beta 3.0 Today

The official site for Day of Defeat today announced the linux build release at 11am PST(2pm EST) followed by the Windows client at 3pm PST. Day of Defeat is a World War II multiplayer total conversion of "Half-life." DoD attempts to recreate WWII battles in both fictional and non-fictional environments. DoD puts you in the shoes (rather, combat boots!) of either an Allied or Axis soldier circa 1944, Western Europe.

Conspiracy Entertainment To Publish 'X10'

Warthog have announced that they have signed the publishing rights to their original property X10 to Conspiracy Entertainment. Conspiracy has worked with Warthog before in creating games for The Warner Bros. Licenses Tiny Toons and Animaniacs , via Conspiracy’s joint venture with SWING! X10 is a first person shooter for PC, Xbox, GameCube and PlayStation2. X10 places a gamer as a soldier, who, under strict instructions, must explore the world of X10 and tackle anything the environment throws at them, including political intrigue, military factions and deadly predators.
