'Battlefield Vietnam' - v1.2 Dedicated Linux Server

In anticipation of tomorrow's v1.2 update patch, EA has released an updated Win32 dedicated server for Digital Illusions' 3D action game Battlefield Vietnam. This release includes three new maps (Operation Cedar Falls, Saigon - 1968, and Fall of Saigon), support for the WWII Mod maps, new spectator options, a console enhancement, and some bug fixes (thanks 3DGamers). As we mentioned a few days ago, Activision has released the first patch for Creative Assembly's 3D RTS Rome: Total War. This update brings your retail game to v1.1 and addresses many issues with multiplayer dealing with game stability, performance and some synch issues. You must download the patch to play online. "Stranger" is a real-time strategy game, with elements of role playing games set in a world, split in two parts, surface and a subterranean one, which are in a tenuous balance. 'Stranger' will also feature multiplayer although details beyond "The players may play on their own, or unite in teams" are a bit sktechy. 'Spellforce: Shadow of the Phoenix' Revealed

A few months back we revealed Phenomic was working on another addon for Jowood's successful RPG Spellforce. Today the first details are starting to trickle in as 'Spellforce: Shadow of the Phoenix,' scheduled for a November release, will feature two new units and buildings, as well as allowing you to further upgrade your heros to level 50. An all new singleplayer campaign will be added, but also 25 new multiplayer maps, 15 of which are dedicated to coop play (a feature which was added in the previous Breath Of Winter expansion).

Apex Designs has announced that their GTA style action game, "Payback," has gone gold. Offering top-down mission-based driving in a fully realised 3D world, 'Payback' features criminal mayhem across more than 10 distinct, living cities each with their own unique feel. The European release date has been pushed back to 19 November, but the provisional US date has been set to 25 October.
