Nintendo Kicks Off the Holidays with Two New NDS Bundles

Starting Nov. 23, Nintendo gives the holiday season a fresh blast of color with the launch of two special-edition NDS bundles. The new Gold edition comes with The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, while the Metallic Rose edition comes with the "Best Friends" version of Nintendogs.

Currently scheduled for a Fab. 2008 released in Japan, Space Invaders Extreme is a remake of one of the first games ever released. While the core of the game has not changed much it seems the developers went all psychedelic with the backgrounds.

Sony Rolls Out v2.01 PS3 Firmware Update

After numerous complains from people experiencing problems with the v2.0 firmware update, Sony has released a new v2.1 edition of its PS3 system software improving not only stability of the system, but also PS3 and PS2 titles, and the Internet browser. There was also a problem with unintended power on through the Remote Start feature, which let you turn on the PS3 remotely using the PSP, which has now been disabled.

At last weekend's Wizard World Texas event, Top Cow Entertainment's Phil Hester, who is currently working on new episodes of The Darkness comic together with artist Michael Broussard, revealed that a sequel to 2K Games' action/horror title is currently in the early stages of development over at Starbreeze. A platinum edition of The Darkness video game ($29.99) will hit stores next summer.
