Max Payne tells the story of a cop who wages a one-man war on crime when his wife and child are killed by thugs, but it is unclear whether the movie will follow the game plot. In Oct., the Max Payne movie is scheduled to launch, starring Mark Wahlberg (known for The Departed, Planet of the Apes or The Perfect Storm) and directed by John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Flight of the Phoenix). Gears of War 2 picks up six months after the events of the original, thrusting players back into humankind’s epic battle for survival against a nightmarish force of underground creatures known as the Locust Horde. At Comic-Con Epic's Cliff Bleszinski revealed that Gears 2 will have "linked achievements," meaning the original will unlock new content in the sequel. For example, killing Raam in GoW will unlock him as a playable character in the sequel. Previously games used save games to unlock items or weapons in a sequel, but this might be a first to automatically have content be available through achievements.
